Google Earth for Android update with pinch to zoom, rotate, 3D topography, and a fancy new way to canvas the ocean floor.

Using pinch to zoom as you normally would in the browser quickly magnifies on your current location or allows you to rotate the map 360 degrees. Interesting to note, once you trigger the new "Look Around" icon and use one finger, you can pan vertically to get a 3D look at the topography surrounding you.

The new search by voice feature for Android 2.1 users makes navigating a quick easy trip around the world. Search by city, keyword, or landmark and Google will navigate you to within view of your destination. Adding layers like "Roads" brings Google Map life functionality into view. To trigger search by voice, Droid and Nexus 1 users can simply hit the physical magnifying glass button on their device and tap the mic icon as usual.

Taking a deeper step into the world around you, Google's addition of ocean floor mapping lets you view the oceans topography using the same "Look Around" tilt feature. Learn more by finding snippets or bubbles of information or quick Flash videos about the ocean floor or natural habitat surrounding it.
